Parklands Pool

This project was designed to harmonise with its natural surroundings, creating an outdoor retreat that feels organic and timeless. The triple-circle pool layout draws inspiration from natural forms, avoiding rigid lines to seamlessly blend with the landscape. By using Castlemaine Slate crazy paving, a material native to Victoria, the project reinforces a natural aesthetic while ensuring durability and non-slip functionality.

A key element of the project was integrating mud rock into the landscaping adjacent to the pool—an essential feature for the client—which further grounds the design in its environment. To maintain a strong connection to the local ecosystem, tea trees and gums, native to the area, were carefully selected. These not only enhance the natural feel but also support the surrounding landscape’s biodiversity.

The dark grey ceramic mosaic tiles give the water a deep, reflective quality, mirroring the ever-changing sky and greenery. Soft landscaping, curved pathways, and a circular timber deck reinforce the organic design language, ensuring the pool feels like an extension of nature rather than an imposed structure. Through material selection and form, this project achieves a seamless, site-responsive design that balances aesthetics, functionality, and environmental harmony.
